The shooting of a police captain in the north of Pretoria dominated headlines this week.
Here are the stories that made headlines this week.

The officer from the north had to be airlifted to a Johannesburg hospital on Saturday evening after he was shot multiple times.
According to Pro Med EMS paramedics, a team responded to a shooting incident at Sefako Makgatho Road at the N1 South Highway in Montana.
The service said that the patient was stabilised and treated on the scene. “Due to the nature of the injuries, Netcare911’s emergency helicopter was activated to assist in airlifting the patient to a specialised hospital in Johannesburg.”
In the east of Pretoria, police were doing all in their power to find the kidnapped East businessman Juca Leonardo (55).
Bronkhorstspruit police spokesperson Constable Munyadziwa Ramovha said Leonardo, owner of a Pick N Pay outlet, was kidnapped on Thursday, April 13.
Ramovha said police were still searching for leads that would assist in locating Leonardo.
Private investigator Mike Bolhuis said there was a unit of senior police and private investigators working on the case.
Bolhuis said his team was investigating several other kidnapping cases in a bid to assist with the investigation.
Meanwhile, a man from Soshanguve was arrested for opening a false car hijacking case.
The man allegedly opened a fake case to convince his family that the vehicle was hijacked instead of repossessed by the bank.
He was expected to appear in the Soshanguve magistrate’s court on charges of perjury.
In lighter news, Bulls fans enjoyed a rock concert and a dominant victory over the weekend.
The lineup for the stage included Mensdom, Skelm, Zaan Sonnekus, CRASHCARBURN as well as Francois Van Coke and Die Gevaar among others.
Attendees also enjoyed all the amenities the stadium had to offer from the food stalls, jumping castles and games.
