Business catches fire in Jean Ave

No one was injured in the fire late on Monday night.

An upholstery and fabric shop in Jean Avenue, Centurion was damaged by fire late on Monday night, May 8.

According to Tshwane emergency services (EMS) spokesperson, deputy chief Charles Mabaso, no one was injured in the incident.

He said that around 23:25, the Tshwane EMS received a call about a building on fire.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the building was engulfed by fire.

“The building is an upholstery and fabric shop. Some fabrics and sewing machines were on fire.”

He said that firefighters battled the blaze for more than an hour and a half before the scene was cleared.

“The cause of the fire has not yet been determined,” he said.
