Hundreds arrested in Sunnyside, Moot as part of police operation
A total of 61 undocumented immigrants were arrested while one person was arrested for employing illegal immigrants.

At the weekend, the regular O Kae Moloa police operation arrested 691 suspects for various offences in Sunnyside and Moot.
On Saturday evening, the multidisciplinary operation with integrated forces comprising several role-players such as Gauteng traffic police, national traffic law enforcement agency and Gauteng crime prevention wardens arrested 234 suspects including 71 for gender-based violence.
Members of the operation made their presence felt when they visited six liquor premises and closed four for noncompliance with the law.
A total of 61 undocumented immigrants were arrested while one person was arrested for employing illegal immigrants.
Three suspects were arrested for possession of drugs and one for dealing drugs.
Two suspects were arrested for being drunk in public and 21 for drinking in public.
One person was arrested for possession of stolen property.
Four people were arrested for driving under the influence and 86 Aarto traffic infringement notices to the value of R72 700 were issued at a roadblock in Sunnyside.
In total, 1 723 persons and 790 vehicles were searched collectively in the two precincts.
