Tshwane emergency services toll-free number crashes again

The Tshwane emergency services toll-free number 107 is currently not working.

Emergency services spokesperson Charles Mabaso said they have been experiencing challenges with the landline over the past 24 hours or so.

“The system experienced technical challenges today (May 11). Calls to our toll-free 107 number and landlines are not coming in,” Mabaso said.

He, however, said all service providers have been made aware of the glitch, saying that technicians were working tirelessly on resolving the matter.

“Please call 083 232 5398 or 082 879 1191 to report a fire or life-threatening emergencies.”

This was the second time in a month that the institution experienced technical issues with its toll-free number.

In April, the department was made aware of problems by residents who were trying with no success to go through the toll-free number.

Residents can also use the national emergency number 112.
