Two suspects, in their 30s, will soon appear in the Mokopane magistrate’s court for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and bribery.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the duo (34 and 38) were arrested on Wednesday in Mokopane South, Limpopo.

“According to information, the police received information from a tracking company about a vehicle that was reported stolen in Brooklyn, Gauteng.”
He said police officers reacted and spotted the suspected vehicle in Mokopane South and later stopped it to investigate further.
“Upon their search, they confirmed that it was indeed reported stolen in May 2023. The driver was subsequently arrested,” Ledwaba said.
Ledwaba said at the police station, the suspect received a call from someone who alleged to be the owner of the vehicle and offered the police an amount of R10 000 in exchange for the release of the suspect and stolen Toyota Prado.
“Arrangements were made to meet the person who gave the police R8 000 cash and was subsequently arrested for bribery and detained.”
Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe hailed the police for their swift reaction which led to the arrest of the suspects and discovery of the stolen motor vehicle.
