Man shot multiple times in East-Lynne
The patient was shot in his chest, legs and arm with seven presentable wounds.
A 27-year-old man was shot multiple times on Tuesday morning in East Lynne.
Advanced Paramedic Assist Emergency Medical Services were on the scene.
“Our team was dispatched at 06:52 to a gunshot incident in East-Lynne,” said spokesperson Renata Erasmus.
“We responded to the scene with road assistance from Proshield Security and Kilnerpark Security.”
According to Erasmus, the man was shot in his chest, legs and arm with seven presentable wounds.
He was found in critical condition with severe blood loss and sustained a tension pneumothorax (the presence of air or gas in the pleural cavity) from the chest injury.
Advanced Life Support treatment was immediately initiated to stabilise the patient.
The patient was transported with advanced life support treatment to the closest hospital facility for further management.
“Advanced Paramedic Assist would like to thank everyone that assisted on the scene,” concluded Erasmus.
Police confirmed the shooting and are investigating.
