Clivia lovers gather for colourful garden show
A clivia show in Anita Johnson’s garden brought neighbours and plant lovers together for a day of colour, tea, and community.
Plant enthusiasts enjoyed a feast for the eyes this weekend, when Anita Johnson opened her lush garden for a clivia show on Saturday.
Johnson, who has lived on her property for more than 10 years, said her passion for clivias has grown with the help of her dedicated gardener.
“I would never have managed without his hard work and care. This garden is a team effort,” she explained.

Rows of vibrant clivias in full bloom welcomed visitors, many of whom came to admire, photograph, and even purchase the striking flowers.
The atmosphere was inviting, with guests treated to tea, cakes, and other refreshments on the lawn.
Neighbours and friends mingled as they strolled through the colourful displays, sharing stories about gardening and their love for clivias.

Regular visitors Gert and Elizabeth de Klerk said they look forward to the show each year.
“We love flowers and Anita’s clivias are always a highlight for us,” they said.

Another couple, Faan and Maritjie Bester, said they often visit the garden.
“We adore clivias, but we also wanted to come out and support Johnson as a friend and neighbour,”
“This brings us together to celebrate beauty of nature, friendship, and community spirit.”
