North punch-hole project secures roads just in time for the holidays

AfriForum North of the Mountain has also renewed its call for community participation, encouraging residents to walk the road with them as they work to restore the area to its boasting self.

A neighbourhood team in the north has intensified its road repair efforts as the festive season approaches, with the community branch rolling out its punch-hole project at full speed.

The AfriForum North of the Mountain has been hard at work along Klippan and surrounding streets, focusing not just on fixing potholes but restoring the structural integrity of the roads to ensure long-term safety and durability for motorists.

According to the team, the goal is not merely to close a hole but to repair it in a way that prevents repeated damage.

“Quality over quantity is our approach. We don’t repair a pothole for the sake of repair; we fix it to ensure it does not form again. Cleanliness and quality are what we strive for, as the Afrikaner has always done,” said the branch.

The branch’s Llewellynn Hemmens said with increased holiday travel and higher traffic expected throughout December, the team believes safer roads are now more crucial than ever.

They aim to make every road north of the mountain a pleasure to drive this festive season.

He said residents have already noticed improvements in the areas where the punch-hole project has been completed, with smoother surfaces and cleaner verges contributing to a more welcoming environment.

AfriForum North of the Mountain has also renewed its call for community participation, encouraging residents to walk the road with them as they work to restore the area to its boasting self.

“These roads belong to all of us, and only by standing together can we ensure they remain safe and well-kept,” he said.

Hemmens said as the punch-hole project continues, AfriForum North of the Mountain remains committed to delivering clean, stable, and long-lasting road repairs, setting a standard they hope will inspire broader civic engagement.
