Elated east learners receive their excellent matric results

Celebrations marked the release of the IEB matric results at Curro Hazeldean, where the Class of 2025 reflected on perseverance and support.

Excitement and celebration filled schools as the Class of 2025 reflected on years of dedication, resilience and hard work, supported by teachers, parents and the broader school communities.

Particularly, learners at Curro Hazeldean, east of Pretoria, gathered on January 12 to receive their Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric results, marking an emotional milestone in their academic journeys.

The IEB announced an overall achievement rate of 98.31%, with the school recording an outstanding performance.

Executive Head Martin Botha praised the learners’ commitment and the support of teachers and parents.

“These results reflect not only academic excellence but character, perseverance and vision. Our learners are well-equipped to help shape the future of our country,” he said.

Hendrik Jacobus Emile Badenhorst expressed pride in his achievement and gratitude for the support he received.

“I have made myself, my family, and my school proud. I’m excited for the next chapter,” he said, adding that he plans to study Data Science at the University of Cape Town.
