The Bronkhorstspruit police are appealing to the public for information that may lead to the arrest of a suspect who was involved in a fatal shooting.

The shooting occurred on October 31, 2025, near Bronkhorstspruit Hospital.

No arrests have been made to date.

Police spokesperson Munyadziwa Cathrine Ramovha said the driver of a blue Toyota Avanza was transporting passengers from the hospital to town when he was approached by a suspect driving a silver Volkswagen Polo.

She said the suspect allegedly opened fire on the Avanza before fleeing the scene.

“The driver sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.”

Ramovha said the police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist the investigation to come forward.

“Anyone with information is requested to contact Detective Captain Maila on 082 822 6657 or Detective Sergeant Maluleka of the Taxi Violence Unit on 072 869 1708. All information will be treated as strictly confidential.”

She also urged members of the public to report suspicious activities and assist in the fight against crime.

“Emergencies and crime reports can be made by calling 10111, while anonymous tip-offs can be submitted through Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
