My name is Bradley Marillier and I am the deputy head boy of Lyttelton Primary School.
I would like to complain about the article ‘Violence in schools an ongoing problem’ printed in the edition of 25 October 2013. This article is an insult to our school because the incident described did not happen at our school.
We have never had any learner attack an educator verbally or physically. The quality of respect between the learners and the educators is higher than what your article suggests. The article is inaccurate because the names of the two schools are being confused. On behalf of Lyttelton Primary School, I respectfully request an apology in your next edition.
(Rekord wishes to apologise for the incorrect reporting on the article ‘Violence in schools an ongoing problem’ printed in the edition of 25 October 2013. It is, as journalists, our duty to report factual and accurate facts. In correction, the school that was reported on was in fact Lyttelton Manor High School and the incident happened two weeks ago and not on Monday 21 October as mentioned. We apologise for any confusion that the article might have caused -Ed).
