OPINION: Growing your faith
Faith is like a seed, and seed must be planted and watered regularly and it will grow.

Faith is like a seed, and seed must be planted and watered regularly and it will grow. The Bible is actually a book full of faith seeds, but if you do not plant those faith seeds in your spirit man (in your heart) they cannot grow. When you’ve planted the seeds of God’s word in your heart, then you need to keep watering them with the word which is Spirit and life. This will guarantee growth. Col. 2:7 (LT) says: “Let your roots grow down in Him and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
Growing your faith is a process. That is why it’s compared to a seed. Here are a couple of keys with which you can grow your faith.
1. Feed your faith through the regular intake of God’s word. Faith begins when you know the will of God. Ps 34:8 (MSG): “Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see – how good God is. Blessed are you who run to Him.”
2. Exercise your faith. You do this by putting your faith to action. Start believing God for little things and your faith plant will grow.
3. Faith is a fact so faith is an act. James 2:17 (NKJ): “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

4. Faith is made stronger when two agree. Matt. 18:19 (NKJ) “Again I say to you if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” This means that two people must agree together in prayer that is according to God’s word because God is watching over His word to perform it.
5. Faith will be rewarded by the actions you take. Prov. 24:12 (GNT) “You may say that is none of your business, but God knows and judges the motives. He keeps watch over you. He knows and He will reward you according to what you do.”
6. Commit your actions to bring glory and honour to the Lord. Prov. 16:3 (NLT) “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
7. A faith action has a reward. Rev 22:12 (NKJ) “And behold I am coming quickly and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his works.”
