TuksCricket sponsor honoured champions
After TuksCricket's recent success, their main sponsor recently entertained the team to celebrate their local and international achievements.
The success of TuksCricket at the recent Red Bull Campus Cricket world championships in London means that this team has completed the perfect circle.
They have won every trophy at every level a top student team in South Africa could possibly win. The Red Bull Campus Cricket world championships are the only global T20 tournament held at this level.
This team is now champions on provincial level, national level and international level. One of the interesting aspects of their participation in the finals of the Red Bull Campus Cricket world championships was that they did so in national colours. It was the first time in the history of South African cricket that a club team as a unit represented the country in national colours.
No one was more proud of their achievements as their main sponsor, Assupol. After sixteen years as chief sponsor of TuksCricket, the company can rightly claim that they stand firmly behind champions.
Assupol organized a gala function last week to honour the champion team from TuksCricket for their incredible success over recent years.
Rudi Schmidt, CEO of the Assupol Group, said the company was particularly proud to have been part of TuksCricket for so long. He personally handed over a gift to each member of the team to congratulate them with their victory in London.
In turn, TuksCricket presented a special cricket hat bought in London and signed by the team to Schmidt and Gert Wessels, executive director of Assupol and founder of the association between Assupol and TuksCricket.
