They now sit on 21 points, 14 adrift of leaders Thanda Royal Zulu, who look set for automatic entry into the Premier Soccer League next season.
Tuks on the other hand are not out of it just yet, they trail the second placed side by just four points.
If they can rediscover their form, then we might see them finishing in the top three thus giving them a second chance.
Coach Shaun Bartlett told the media last year that the focus was to return the university side to top flight football.
He did so a few seasons ago when he resurrected Lamontville Golden Arrows.
Tuks’ chances of a return could be boosted if they sign key players with PSL experience.
According to Kick-Off magazine, former Kaizer Chiefs player Stanton Lewis was seen training with the club.
Another player who’s linked with the students is Clifford Ngbeni, who won the treble with Orlando Pirates.
In their last game, Tuks showed resilience coming back from two goals down to level the game 2-2 against Mthatha Bucks.
