Sport highlights 24-26 February
Sports enthusiasts should leave the braai on Saturday night until after the Super Rugby match between the Bulls and Stormers. Then they must continue to party until 03:00 the next morning, when the cricket in New Zealand will start.
The long wait for the start of the Super Rugby season is finally over and for Bulls fans it cannot start on a more exciting note than with a derby against the Stormers.

Rugby
South African rugby urgently needs excellent performances on the field to recover from the setbacks suffered over the past few seasons.
Rugby supporters are therefore no doubt hoping this weekend will herald in a new era for South African teams in the Super Rugby tournament.
For the Bulls the season starts with a derby against their oldest rivals from the Cape.
The game between the Bulls and the Stormers starts at 19:30 on Saturday night.
On Friday, the Sharks take on the Reds in Brisbane at 11:00 (SA time).
The Cheetahs will take on the Lions on Saturday at 15:00 and at 17:10 the Kings will play against the Jaguares from Argentina in Port Elizabeth.
Those who feel up to more rugby action after the weekend can watch the Varsity Cup match between Tuks and Wits at the Tuks stadium on Monday night at 18:30.

Cricket
The Proteas will seek revenge on Saturday when they play in the third one-day international game of the current series against the Black Caps of New Zealand after the latter broke their unbeaten run of 12 consecutive victories in this format of the game.
The two teams will meet each other in Wellington on Sunday for the third game of the series.
The action starts at 03:00 (SA time).
In the local Momentum one-day series the Titans will try to reimburse their unnecessary defeat against the Dolphins last week when they take on the Cobras in Cape Town on Friday.
The action starts at 14:00.
Football
There will be football action in the Premier League this weekend, and both local teams will be involved.
The two local teams will both play on Saturday, but luckily not at the same time.
Mamelodi Sundowns will be first in line when they play against Wits at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday at 18:00.
Directly after this game, SuperSport United will run out at the Makhulong stadium in Tembisa to play against Highlands Park at 20:15.

Athletics
Over the years the Deloitte Pretoria marathon has become a must do event for all entrants.
The event consists of a 42.2km marathon (starting at 06:00), a 21.1km half-marathon (also starting at 06:00) and a 10km road race (starting at 06:15).
The races start and end at Pretoria high school Old Boys club Hofmeyr Park at the corner of Kings Highway and Queens Crescent in Lynnwood.
Golf
The Joburg Open golf tournament will take place at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington golf club this weekend.
This tournament shares the honour as South Africa’s richest golf tournament with the Tshwane Open, which will take place next weekend.
The three young Turks from Pretoria, George Coetzee, Brandon Stone and Zander Lombard, have a good record in the Joburg Open and golf enthusiasts will keep a close eye on these three men over the weekend.
