Pretoria teams will have their hands full this weekend as the Absa premier soccer league goes into its 20th round.
Mamelodi Sundowns still lead by nine points while SuperSport United and Amatuks are further behind.
University of Pretoria starts the weekend games when they travel to Braamfontein on Friday evening to face Bidvest Wits.
The Pretoria students have struggled in recent times and a win could be a deciding factor on whether they stay in the premier league next season. Coach Shaun Bartlett knows he needs to pass a Wits test if his team wanted to retain their PSL status.
Table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns host an improved Golden Arrows side. The rejuvenated Arrows have been a team to beat this season and if the Brazilians faithful’s are looking for an easy game, then they are definitely going to be disappointed. Despite losing three games in a row prior to their win over Polokwane City, Arrows pose a threat.
‘Downs are five wins away from clinching the title and by now it is clear that Pitso Mosimane and his charges are smelling blood.
The game will kick off at 18:00 at the Lucas Moripe stadium on Saturday.
In the final game that starts at 20:15, SuperSport United lock horns with Kaizer Chiefs at the Cape Town stadium. Amakhosi have been on good form of late and their three wins out of three have seen them occupy fourth place and just a point behind second place Bidvest Wits.
