Coetzee eyes first series win
Warren Whiteley and Ruan Combrinck will be given their first starts in Saturday's crunch game against the Irish.
If the Springboks want to win the three-test series against Ireland they will have to bring their A-game at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium on Saturday.
Following their humiliating defeat in the first test match, the men in green and gold bounced back in style in Johannesburg last week after their hard-fought 32-26 win over Ireland.
New coach Allister Coetzee tasted victory for the first time as coach and he will be looking for a series win to get the monkey off his back and perhaps appease supporters who have already called for his head.
Warren Whiteley (No 8) and Ruan Combrinck (wing) will make their first starts for the Springboks in the deciding third test.
Both players came on in the second half against the Irish last week and produced sublime performances, with the latter earning a man of the match title.
Coetzee said he expected a tough encounter this weekend.
“It will be another huge battle between the sides on Saturday,” he said on the SA Rugby Union website.
“Both sides have suffered injuries before and during the series, but that is part of the game and it again provides opportunities for others to come in and stake their claim.”
