Behardien to captain Proteas
After leading the Titans to the T20 title, Farhaan Behardien has the opportunity to prove his critics wrong.

Multiply Titans batsman Farhaan Behardien will be the stand-in captain of the Proteas in their T20 series against Sri Lanka later this month.
The 33-year-old takes over from Faf du Plessis, who is resting for the series.
Titans coach Mark Boucher said on the club’s website that Behardien showed signs of being a great leader.
think Behardien is underrated good to see him being given a senior role in the team. Should be a good series

Behardien has smashed 352 runs in the T20 challenge with an average of 117.33 this season and was a key factor in propelling the Titans to the title.
Despite being an underrated all-rounder at international level, the Titans big hitter has been one of the best finishers in domestic cricket.
His multiple match winning innings has seen the Titans dominate the T20 challenge and Momentum ODI cup in recent times.
Behardien however, still has a chance to prove critics wrong.

He has featured for the Proteas in T20 games 21 times in the past five years with an average of 23.
Another local player called up is the 32-year-old big hitter Heino Kuhn.
Boucher expressed his delight with the selection of Kuhn in the SA T20 team.
“Some people have felt for some time that he could be in the test team and I hope he is not merely earmarked for the national T20 format,” said Boucher.
“He can play test cricket for South Africa in the future.”
Another local making his debut is Lungi Ngidi.
“Lungi Ngidi is a great kid. He is very open-minded. He has height, pace, skill and a great attitude. He has all the attributes to be one of the stars of the future of South Africa,” he added.
“But he is not the complete package yet,” said Boucher.
