Join local club’s Mini Soccer tournament to celebrate the World Cup
Hollandia Football Club in Rietfontein will host an exciting Mini Soccer tournament on Youth Day to celebrate the forthcoming World Cup in Russia.
It’s Soccer World Cup time again and to celebrate the occasion Hollandia Football Club in Rietfontein, Pretoria, will be hosting an exciting Mini Soccer tournament on Youth Day (16th June).
Hollandia FC invites all soccer academies, clubs and schools in Pretoria to enter teams for the tournament.
Each participating club, school or academy may enter one team per age group. Since it is a Mini Soccer tournament, it means that every club may enter three teams – one each in the age groups under 7, under 8 and under 9.
Each team must consist of a squad of 12 players. Mini Soccer is played with eight players per team, which includes the goalkeeper. They play in a formation of three forwards, two midfielders and two backs plus the goalkeeper. The remaining four players per squad will be the substitutes.
Matches last 15 minutes per half while a five-minute half-time period is allowed. In line with the World Cup theme, the tournament will also feature an opening ceremony, group matches, league matches and a final in every age group.
In the spirit of the official 2018 World Cup tournament, which will take place in Russia, each participating club, school or academy must choose a country that they will represent at the Mini Soccer tournament. Participants may choose any country, not only the countries that qualified to play in Russia in the official tournament.
Hollandia as the host reserve Holland as its country they will represent.
The deadline for registration is 7 June. For more information and details about registration contact Marissa van de Wetering on 082-419-3038 or email: ardmar100@gmail.com .
