Blue Bulls congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns on their 50th birthday
Pretoria's proud champions football club, Mamelodi Sundowns, celebrated their 50th birthday this past weekend and the city's other champion sports team, the Blue Bulls, were also there to take part in the celebrations.
Pretoria’s own super soccer club, Mamelodi Sundowns, celebrated their official 50th birthday this past weekend.
It is well known that over the past few years a very close bond has been built between this club and the Blue Bulls, Pretoria’s other super sports union and champion team.
The two clubs/sports unions not only share the facility of Loftus Versfeld as a stadium, but there is also joint ownership in the professional legs of the two organizations with dr. Patrice Motsepe who owns the football club, while also being a shareholder of the Blue Bulls Company.
To celebrate Mamelodi Sundowns’ birthday, the president of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, Willem Straus, handed over a special bronze statue – a miniature replica of the storming Bull statue in front of Loftus Versfeld – to dr. Motsepe.
