The Tshwane Classic cycling race is back
As with many other sports, cyclists have longed for the opportunity to take part in racing again for months and with the new relaxed Covid regulations, the Tshwane Classic bike race will soon be presented outside the city area, but still within the boundaries of the Tshwane Metro.
The largest annual road bike race within the borders of the Tshwane Metro, the popular Tshwane Classic race, will take place on 7 November at the Willem Prinsloo Museum.
The race will be presented away from the urban area to avoid contact with outsiders as part of the Covid safety measures.
Organizers of this race have put many plans in place to ensure that the route will be safe for participants. There will be many traffic officers, motorcycles, ambulances and officials on the route, while the condition of the roads is very good.
The race makes provision for two routes. Cyclists can choose between the longer distance of 92.2 km or the shorter distance of 64km. These routes are worked out with safety and the comfort of the participants taken into account everywhere.
While dusty conditions were a problem at the previous site’s where this race was presented, this inconvenience will not exist on the neatly maintained site of the Willem Prinsloo museum. Parking is secure.
In addition, the museum has arranged a large variety of stalls to make it a real family outing. There will be a wide variety of food and drink available.
There will also be an opportunity for those who will not participate in the bike race to enjoy the jogging and hiking trails on the site of the museum.
Disabled and small children can participate in their own races on any item with wheels. Provision is made for a special safe lane which will be at their disposal. Even babies can participate in their strollers.
Entries can be made ahead of time by registering electronically at www.cycleevents.co.za.
More information about the race itself can be obtained by consulting Hectic Promotions’ website www.hecticpromotions.co.za. This organization is known for using large parts of its profits for charity projects.
