Pedal Power Association welcomes a new CEO

The Pedal Power Association, a public benefit organization committed to promoting cycling and the interests of cyclists, has a new boss at the helm.

The Pedal Power Association (PPA) recently announced that Neil Robinson was appointed as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer from the 1st of February 2022.

Robinson’s key mandate will be to, as per the strategic intent described at the organization’s AGM in 2021, focus on the broader aspects of enabling cycling to serve the interests of all citizens of South Africa.

With over 30 years in various sectors including the NGO and Social Enterprise space Robinson brings a strong strategic development and marketing background to the role.  He also has experience in growing and developing new businesses and creating employment opportunities at the local level.

Whilst Robinson is keen to take on the challenge of meeting PPA’s broader mandate PPA’s to have cycling recognized both as a means of transport and as a sport he remains very aware of the history of PPA and the interests and values of our members.

The organization expressed the hope that Robinson will be able to grow the PPA and increase the awareness of cycling as a way of life for its health benefits, as an enjoyable sport and the importance of making safe commuting with the necessary infrastructure.
