#CutForZayn blowing up the Twitter-sphere
A new hashtag has been trending on Twitter and is, to say the very least, disturbing.
After news broke that Zayn Malik left the boyband One Direction, fans have been pouring out their disappointment on social media platforms.
Responses have ranged from teenage girls sobbing uncontrollably to a more disturbing trend of fans cutting themselves and making this known on Twitter, using the hashtag #CutForZayn.
The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag) has labelled this self-harming trend as disturbing.
One Direction is currently in South Africa as part of their world tour.
