Moving dinosaurs on display in Pretoria

Dinos Alive is coming to Pretoria.

We all remember Jurassic Park, where every kid’s dream of seeing living and breathing dinosaurs came true.

Now all of us can relive that childhood dream of seeing moving, life-size dinosaurs.

Dinos Alive tells the story of dinosaurs from the Mesozoic era about 250 million to 65 million years ago. It’s a meticulous selection of the most representative specimens of prehistoric times that allows us to know about their behaviour and actual dimensions.

The Dinos Alive exhibition comprises familiar faces like the Tyrannosaurs Rex, Velociraptor and Triceratops, and if you’re a dinosaur enthusiast you’ll be able to spot more obscure creatures like the Spinosaurus and Ankylosaurus, which will also be on show. Nobody will fail to spot the towering Brachiosaurus, a gigantic dinosaur recreated in all its glory.

Dinos Alive is geared for the whole family and the realistic habitat and the dinosaurs’ lifelike movements and textures – and the sounds they make – will take young and old back to the time when they moved about the earth.

Dinos Alive is endorsed by the University of Witwatersrand and features 25 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs as well as hands-on activities for children, who will be able to learn everything about them from information boards.

Other fun activities include Dino Rides, excavation sand pits, a Dino movie, Dino art, a jumping castle, PlayStation games and Dino shops. Kids will be delighted by the movement of the dinosaurs and parents will love the joy on their faces.

Bring the kids – and the kid in you – to the Tshwane Events Centre and experience Dinos Alive this April.

Dinos Alive will be at the Tshwane Events Centre from 11 April to 17 May 2015 and tickets are available at Computicket or at the door.
