Help celebrate the best of the best in Best of Pretoria 2015

Pretoria’s biggest community newspaper with a distribution of more than 300 000 weekly, annually hosts the prestigious Best of Pretoria Rekord Reader’s Choice Awards, an event eagerly awaited by readers, top businessmen and service providers in the Tshwane metro.

The Best of Pretoria Rekord Reader’s Choice Awards is an annual reader survey aimed at celebrating, recognising and rewarding a wide variety of local excellence.

In its fourth year, and more popular than ever, local businesses, service providers and products that are a cut above the rest are singled out by our readers, who are asked to vote for their favourites in six main categories over the course of three weeks.

The ballots are available in Rekord newspapers this week and are also available online at www.rekordeast.co.za for readers to make their choices in the various categories. Readers can start voting immediately to ensure that their favourite is not excluded from possibly being voted the best in the capital city.

Prizes worth more than R100 000 can be won by readers who complete the ballot forms.

“The excitement and buzz created by the awards among businesses never cease to amaze me and the pride of winners in displaying their certificates in their places of business and how they incorporate their winning status in their advertising campaigns are astonishing,” says Sunette Visser, Rekord Group Editor.

The enthusiasm of Rekord readers taking part in the voting process was equally amazing with tens of thousands of votes being cast each year by the people of the capital city who want to see their favourite eatery or shopping hot spot taking the top honours, Visser added.

The voting results are independently audited before the winners in each category receive the ultimate recognition by having their business, service or product celebrated in a collectors’ supplement, distributed to more than 200 000 households in Pretoria East, Centurion, Pretoria North and the Moot.

The supplement, which contains the winners and individual write-ups about all of them, is also available online throughout the year and is often used by readers to guide them in their shopping, social and service experiences.

Details and photographs of winners taken at the award function are also online throughout the year on four online newspaper platforms as well as the Get It Pretoria website which combined, have more than 300 000 unique visitors monthly. Social photos taken at the function where the who’s who of Pretoria’s business world gathers to receive their certificates, are also published in the top four Rekord newspapers after the event.

This year’s process culminates in a celebratory function in October where the winners, who always include an A-list of the capital city’s business decision makers, will again rub shoulders with celebrities, get to network with the best of the best in a wide variety of business or service industries and receive their certificates with pride.
