‘Car thief’ injured in police chase
Suspected thief overturns stolen bakkie.

A suspected car thief was injured in a crash on the corner of Goede Hoop Avenue and Nellmapius Drive in Irene on Sunday afternoon.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said paramedics rushed to the scene and treated the injured man.
“It is believed the man stole the bakkie at a Pretoria hospital parking lot this afternoon,” said Mathe.
“According to reports the man lost control of the bakkie during a police chase.”
Mathe said the man was taken to hospital and is under police guard.
Lyttelton police could not yet comment on the accident.
