Cable theft leads to power outage in Centurion

Parts of Centurion are out of power due to cable theft, the Tshwane metro said.

Parts of Centurion were without power on Thursday, due to a cable theft at the Rua Vista substation, the Tshwane metro said.

Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said three main feeder cables were stolen in the morning.

“Rua Vista, Thatchfield and parts of Olievenhoutbosch are affected by this service interruption.”

He said technicians were working on the repairs which they could be completed by midnight.

Meanwhile, residents of Louwlardia were also without power due to a cable fault.

“Technicians are also busy with repairs and estimate to restore the electricity supply by tomorrow [Friday] morning.
