Man killed in Eersterust drug deal
An Eersterust man was shot dead in what was believed to be a drug deal gone wrong.
A man was shot dead in the streets of Eersterust at the weekend when a drug deal went awry.
A reliable source, who wished to remain anonymous, said the man was shot three times after a drug transaction went wrong on Sunday.
“There was a quarrel between the suspect and the victim. The victim was shot three times,” he told Rekord.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan Van Dyk confirmed there was a shooting, but was not immediately able to give more details.
He said the motive of the killing was not known.
“We are investigating. So far no arrests have been made but we are chasing leads of a suspect we want for questioning.”
