Afro-jazz muso releases album
The album was produced by versatile producer Sello Cry Motshekga who said it was encouraging to see new people venturing into arts.
Soshanguve Afro-jazz musician Peter Tshehla will release his first proper album before the end of next week.
Tshehla, from Block X in Soshanguve, is not entirely new in the music industry.
He has been writing songs and has been performing for the past few years, but lacked recording support to produce an album.
His eight-track album titled Tshiwanyana (orphan) carries songs such as Amor, Zinyamazana, Happy People, Washikashika, and Jungle Breeze.

The album was produced by versatile producer Sello Cry Motshekga who said it was encouraging to see new people venturing into arts.
“The album is complete. We started working on it in January. It took us sleepless days and nights to fine-tune it. At the moment we are printing the CD’s and it will be out before the end of next week,” said Motshekga.
Motshekga said Tshiwanyana was one of the most exciting projects he had worked on.
“It’s a nice album. It contains a bit of Afro-jazz with a bit of samba. People will enjoy it,” said Motshekga.
He said it was always good to work with new artists.
“It’s good to see the emergence of new artists, he will go a long way,” said Motshekga.

Tshehla said he was confident people would love the album as much as he enjoyed working on it.
“Music, particularly Afro-jazz is no stroll in the park,” he said.
“One really needs to make the grade. I am happy I teamed up with competent Motshekga and I am hopeful that he will help me to promote the album, to get gigs and airplay at some of the radio stations,” he said.
Tshehla’s performances had only been studio-confined, but he said he was now ready to take his music to the people.
“I feel that my music relates to all Soshanguve people and I’d be happy to perform with other established musicians at the many big gigs that are hosted around Tshwane,” he said.
“The best of me is still to come and I know music lovers will not be disappointed.”
