The Syndicate is on the rise.
Mabopane-based hip hop group is about to live their dreams.
The group, which started in 2013, consists of six members: Thato Mosehle (Taydo), Lebogang Kekana (OG Cena), Lethabo Moeletsi (Nankie), Obakeng Shikwane (Dexter) and their photographer Otsile (Smartmampara).
“With the high rate of unemployment and substance abuse among the youth we had to do something positive,” said Taydo, the group’s vocalist and Cena, the rapper.

Previously, the group was known as Asapnote Team and still today, fans refer to the name.
The previous group had seven members and only four stayed behind to form The Syndicate.
“When our previous group failed, we never gave up. We had a common goal and it is to pursue our love for music,” said Cena.
The group, has shared the stage with popular South African artists like Kwesta, Ambitiouz Ent, Dj Dimples, Zakwe, Nasty C, Duncan, Big Nuz, Smashis, Kid x, DJ Speedsta, DJ Bongs, Ralf Gum and Shelton Forbes.
The group does not only produce its own songs beats.
They are also involved with various activities.

“The Syndicate is involved with a clothing brand called Pause Play PTA. We also promote our own brand and host events,” said Taydo.
Percival Mokgohlwa, a resident from Mabopane Block B said he would be happy to support the hip hop crew.
“They are doing something positive with their lives. Instead of just sitting around and doing nothing,” said Mokgohlwa.
Cena said the fans should expect a new album soon.
“We just finished recording the album. Fans will be informed of the release date through social media platforms.”
He said they were confident their fans would love their mix-tape as it was their best work ever.
The group have an upcoming event on 6 May.
