The school holidays are here and Nu Metro in Pretoria is releasing Smallfoot in 3D this weekend – an animated comedy-adventure for the whole family to enjoy.

If you are in need of some comic relief, then look no further than Kevin Hart in Night School. And, for a suspense thriller filled with stylish twists and turns, A Simple Favour is the movie you want to book the front seat for.
Night School will also be showing on the Premium Large Format screen with powerful 360-degree sound in Nu Metro’s Xtreme cinema at Menlyn.
We just love homegrown movies and from this weekend Nu Metro has the highly-anticipated war drama-thriller The Recce opening as well.

A group of misfits is forced to attend adult classes in the long-shot chance of a pass in the high school GED exam. Kevin Hart goes from having everything to being diagnosed ‘clinically stupid’ while trying to pass.

Directed by Paul Feig, A Simple Favour centres around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend, Emily’s (Blake Lively), sudden disappearance from their small town. Stephanie is joined by Emily’s husband, Sean (Henry Golding), in this stylish thriller filled with twists and betrayals, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge.

THE RECCE (16 LV)

So vee die bos ons spore vinnig uit… After the SADF wrongly declares a young Recce dead behind enemy lines, it is up to him alone to use every skill and tool in his arsenal to make it back to his grieving wife. With the enemy hot on his trail, and a gunshot wound in his gut, Henk’s chances for survival are looking slim as he navigates the treacherous war-torn African landscape. Starring Greg Kriek, Christia Visser, Elsabé Daneel, Marius Weyers, Maurice Carpede and Albert Maritz.

Bookings are now open for the next Girls’ Night Out at Nu Metro cinemas on 4 October – featuring A Star Is Born (starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper). And, tickets are now also available for a pre-release screening of the new dark superhero blockbuster Venom in the 4DX cinema at Nu Metro Menlyn on 4 October.
