Queenswood folks help Jacaranda FM jock celebrate birthday
The 10th Jacaranda FM scenic drive street braai saw hundreds camp on the streets with their cooler boxes and meat to celebrate their favourite radio presenter’s 45th birthday party.
Residents came in numbers to celebrate Rian’s birthday party
Jacaranda FM’s Scenic Drive hosted a street braai in Queenswood to celebrate Rian van Heerden’s birthday on Friday afternoon.
The street braai was held on the corner of Webb and Garret avenues and broadcast live between 16:00 and 19:00.

Hits of popular singer Brendan Peyper entertained the crowds at the street braai.
“This started out in February [this year] as an opportunity for people to come together and know their neighbours. [This was made] to create a sense of community and belonging.
“This has grown to a point where more than 800 people have joined us at our latest braais. It really is something to see and the spirit is phenomenal,” said Van Heerden.
