North beauty queen educates learners about recycling
“Some of these children are only eight years old but they are already caring for our environment and keeping their community clean, while also educating people to care for the environment.”
Businesswoman and Mrs Tammy Taylor South Africa finalist Abigail Leola recently took to Sekampaneng primary school in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, to educate the learners about recycling.
“My main aim with recycling is not only to help reduce the pollution caused by waste but also to encourage schools and people to use this as an opportunity to make money as the economy is tough and for many unemployment hits hard,” she said.

“Some of these children are only eight years old but they are already caring for our environment and keeping their community clean, while also educating people to care for the environment.”
She added that her visit to the school was not only to encourage the learners to keep up their efforts but to also offer assistance so they can raise funds with Mpact Recycling.
Leola’s visit was in collaboration with Mpact Recycling, which aims to work with schools and communities to promote recycling awareness, support fund-raising initiatives and increase the volume of recycling.
