COMPETITION: What’s new at the movies

New movies for you to see this week.

The epic finale in the blockbusting animated 3D movie series, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, takes flight in Nu Metro’s Pretoria cinemas this weekend, including the multi-sensory 4DX and larger-than-life Xtreme theatres at Menlyn Park.

The 4DX motion seats will make you feel as if you are soaring on top of the dragon’s back. With various environmental effects such as lightning, water and air shots, Nu Metro’s 4DX cinemas will transport you to the adventure-filled island of the Vikings and present you with a spectacular movie adventure like no other.

Two of this year’s most highly-nominated movies at the Academy Awards start showing in select Nu Metro cinemas this week: the historical comedy-drama The Favourite (10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture); and the humorous take on the US’ most influential political characters, Vice (8 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture).

If it is truly hair-raising cold shivers you want, The Possession of Hannah Grace is the new horror haunting select Nu Metro big screens. Or, join Kevin Hart for this year’s first must-see comedy (inspired by a true story), The Upside.
