Dogtown is now licensed to train IMDT course
Whether you just want to understand your dogs better or if you want a career working with dogs, this is where you should start.

Centurion-based home for stray and abandoned dogs is now licensed to present an internationally accredited training course for dogs.
Whether you just want to understand your dogs better or if you want a career working with dogs, this is where you should start, said Dogtown South Africa founder Tracy McQuarrie.
Dogtown, just down the road from the Hennops River, is a sanctuary for abandoned and stray dogs.
They received their license to present Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) courses and are now open for training, even during lockdown via a correspondence course with tutor support.
All profits from these training courses will go to Dogtown to help care for the 150 dogs in their care.
We are incredibly proud to receive the license as an IMDT training centre, said McQuarrie.
At Dogtown, we are committed to saving dogs lives, and being able to offer training on behaviour and care of South African dogs is one way to do that.

The license to offer the IMDT course in South Africa came after members of the team completed courses locally with Steve Mann, who runs the IMDT, and in London with Dave Brice, also a qualified IMDT member.
I’ve been visiting and presenting courses at Dogtown SA for many years.
Each time I leave inspired and impressed with the knowledge, commitment and experience of the team, said MannMann says the knowledge at Dowtown is coupled with a rock-solid code of ethics, which led the IMDT to grant Dogtown SA the registered education provider license.
This would enable Dogtown SA to provide courses, assessments and industry body memberships to dog trainers and behaviourists throughout South Africa.
