Covid-19 cases in SA heading to 300 000 mark
More than 10 000 new infections recorded on Tuesday and 174 more deaths.

South Africa now has 287 796 confirmed Covid-19 cases, the Department of Health announced on Tuesday.
This is an increase of 10 496 new infections from Monday.
One hundred seventy-four more deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country to 4 346.
Of the new recorded cases of death due to Covid-19, four were from Northern Cape, 27 from KwaZulu- Natal, 17 from Eastern Cape, 44 from Western Cape and 82 from Gauteng province.
According to data released by the Department of Health, 146 279 recoveries have been recorded to date.
In total, 2 232 738 Covid-19 tests have been conducted.

The following confirmed Covid-19 cases have been detected in each province, according to the data released on Tuesday:
– Western Cape: 80 199 cases
– Gauteng: 10 7070 cases
– KwaZulu-Natal: 30 587 cases
– Eastern Cape: 53 959 cases
– Limpopo: 3 458 cases
– Mpumalanga: 4 576 cases
– North West: 10 784 cases
– Northern Cape: 1 579 cases
– Free State: 5 973 cases
The department reported 107 unallocated cases.
