Loftus Park hosts ninth Halloween Festival

“It's literally a time to let loose.”

Loftus Park hosted its ninth Halloween Festival on Saturday afternoon.

Event organiser Robert Pereira said the event was an occasion to “dress up, be silly, watch amazing live music and have really good jol”.

Pereira said due to Covid-19 regulations this year, they had to scale down and change things compared to previous years.

”The toughest part was to make sure that it was safe. The capacity of 500 people makes it really tough.”

”This is a festival where we are used to having more than 5 000 people; so running at 10% is a really tough thing, but we have to fulfil our promises to the crowd that we will provide a Halloween event for them every year.”

He apologised to fans of the event who would have loved to attend, saying this year was completely out of their hands.

He said even if the virus was still around next year, they will make sure people still get to enjoy the event.

”I want to do this every year until I die; this is a highlight for us, not only as a company but for me as an individual.”

“It’s literally a time to let loose, enjoy good music and enjoy who you are. We want to keep this tradition going.”
