New shopping centre officially opens in Thatchfield
New Thatchfield Retail Centre makes shopping convenient for the residents.
The brand new Thatchfield Retail Centre finally opened its doors to the community on Thursday at Thatchfield Manor, Centurion.
After more than 10 months, the residents of Thatchfield could finally celebrate the completion of the R130-million shopping centre.
The end of the construction activity for this successful project was marked by a massive celebration, organised by developer LYNX Real Estate.

The accomplishment’s celebration took place at the centre on the eve of the official opening. The centre was officially opened on the Freedom Day public holiday.
The holiday coincides with the fact that the Thatchfield residents will be free from travelling long distances – often costly – for their shopping.
The new mall, on their doorstep, provides several benefits that had been much-awaited including convenient shopping and saving money on travel cost, among other things.

“Coming to the shopping centre will take residents not even five minutes from their houses,” LYNX Real Estate director Dirk Nel Jr told Rekord at the celebration of the completion of the centre’s construction process.
“The shopping centre makes shopping convenient for Thatchfield residents,” he said.

According to him, some residents may literally walk to the shopping centre as it is within walking distance from most of the houses, if not all in the area.
“The residents do not have to cross the highway to do shopping,” Nel said, adding that the customers have a huge variety of shops and products to choose from.
The 500-square-metre shopping centre, consists of 15 tenants including Checkers, Woolworths Food, Dis-Chem pharmacy, Pick n Pay Clothing, KFC, Pizza Baby, Bootlegger Coffee Company, PostNet, The Crazy Shop, Absolute Pets, Tasko Sweets, Vision Works Optometrists and Clinic.

It also has two ATMs – Absa and FNB – and boasts tight security that includes monitoring of the premises as well as strict access control in and out for customers.
Car parking is available for free and the shopping centre trading hours are from 08:00 to 20:00
