On Sunday, May 8, we will be celebrating mothers and the important role they play in society.
We can already see the consternation on dad and the kids’ faces!

But before we get to the solution, let us get down to the business of being a mum in the year 2022.
Society tends to forget that mothers are not only providers of services, but that they are individuals as well.
Mothers have needs and dreams and challenges. They too desperately need happiness and to feel appreciated and worthy of love and adoration.
Most of the time dads and kids realise that they “should” do something special for mum a day or two before Mother’s Day. They feel obligated to show her they are aware of her existence. The truth is that dads and kids don’t know what mums really want or what they need.
The mum team at Theron’s Meat decided to help dads and kids out by giving our readers some pointers.
What Mothers actually need to hear EVERY DAY, not only on Mother’s Day.
1. Mothers need to know they are doing a good job.
First, mums need to know that no matter what their strengths or weaknesses are, they are doing the best they can. This means they are already doing a good job.
2. Mothers need to know their personal sacrifices are not in vain.
So much of our parenting energy is focused on raising children who will hopefully turn out to be balanced, happy and make an uplifting contribution to society. We plant, plant, plant and often never know when or if there will be a harvest. At home, day after day, night after night, mums are busy being mums.
It is especially hard for single mothers, although, lots of married women are doing the child-raising all by themselves and do not have spouses who appreciate what they do. SHOW your mum that her life’s work is not in vain and be responsible, kind and appreciative, no matter what your circumstances are.
3. Mothers need to know that somebody sees them.
Well… Team Theron has something to say to you, girl. Somebody does see you. When you are living and breathing your God-given strength and talents to raise your child in his/her ways, you are loved, protected and cherished.
In the Old Testament, Hagar fled her home after being treated harshly. She encountered an angel in the desert sent by God who encouraged her so much that she gave God a name. This is the place in the Bible where we see a beautiful attribute given to God. She called Him El Roi – the God Who Sees. When you try your hardest but still lose it, He sees. Don’t fret when you think that nobody appreciates how hard you work or how much you sacrifice, He does. He may not physically wrap His arms around you and give you Mother of the year awards, but you know what? He can use us to celebrate each other.
So, let’s do something different this Mother’s Day. Instead of just posting pictures of ourselves and our colour-coordinating families (since it’s on a Sunday and you know we all want to look cute for the photo,) let’s start celebrating each other now.
