POLOKWANE – Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the three awaiting trial prisoners escaped from the police holding cells on Monday morning between 5:00 and 6:00 am.
“The three prisoners escaped by cutting the roof in the exercise compartment,” Ngoepe says.
Police investigations into the circumstances of their escape still continue.
