Young and old V-Dub members are back to spread more community love

V-Dub president Jaylon Thompson said their main objective is to make a positive difference while simultaneously sharing a love and passion for cars.

POLOKWANE – With more than 36 young and old vibrant members in the group between the ages of 16 and 40, the Westenburg V-Dub Crew is back.

Westenburg V-Dub was founded in 2013 and currently consists of mostly high school individuals who want to set an example, inspire and empower their peers.

The members are mentored and led by the older members who started with the group.

V-Dub president Jaylon Thompson told the Polokwane Observer that as a charity organisation, their main objective is to make a positive difference while simultaneously sharing a love and passion for cars.

Thompson added that what mainly inspired him to join was his ceaseless desire to give back and help those in need. “When I was elected as president I felt an immediate sense of responsibility to make a difference,” he said.

He added that as a president, his role is to provide leadership and direction.

“I exert myself to ensure we do what we’re supposed to. I work closely with my senior mentors to ensure efficiency, in addition I’m the representative of V-Dub to the public. We invite more young and energetic people to join the crew,” he said.

“We look forward to expanding our routes. We are also actively seeking sponsors to help us in achieving our mission, with their help we can make a positive impact in the world.”
