Why build a library where the community cannot even reach it?
I am a concerned citizen of Limpopo who happened to visit Jane Furse recently to see a friend. What I saw there makes me wonder if our government takes the people seriously.

I was surprised to be shown a building in the middle of a hill in the bush, 2km from the nearest settlement.
The building was the community library.
This library had been there for years and, according to my friend, people do not use this library.
He said they do not use the library not because they are illiterate or lazy, but becaus it is so far from their homes. The taxis don’t even go there and it is dangerous to walk in the bushes. So they don’t bother.
Now the library is not in use, which means more of the tax payer’s money down the drain.
Why would the municipality put a community service structure so far away from the people it is supposed to serve in the first place?
Worried citizen.
