KLG season is in full swing
Leswika Classic and Mphoto FC lead the Top Eight and Top 16 play-off groups of the Kaizer Letsoalo Games (KLG) soccer league
DESPITE drawing their matches last weekend, Leswika Classic and Mphoto FC lead the Top Eight and Top 16 play-off groups of the Kaizer Letsoalo Games (KLG) soccer league.
Mphoto played to a 2-2 draw against Bubs at Carling ground in Tlhabine on Saturday, while Leswika Classic squandered a 2-0 first-half lead to draw 2-2 in their thrilling encounter with Lebaleng Shining Stars.
Eight teams, drawn from the Green and Yellow streams of the 2013 KLG Soccer league, participated in the Top Eight play-offs to determine the teams that will qualify for the KLG Top Eight Soccer Challenge next year.
The other eight will do battle in the Top 16 play-offs to decide the teams that will earn spots in the KLG Premier League next season.
The remaining 16 teams will play in the lower division of the KLG League, which will be called the KLG Super League, next season.
According to the secretary of the KLG soccer league, Tonny Kudumela, all new teams set to join KLG Sport next year will be part of the two streams of the KLG Super League.
Saturday’s Top 16 play-offs results:
• Royal Celtic 3-1 Khopho All Stars;
• Mphoto 2-2 Bubs;
• Mogoboya Junior Chiefs 2-0 Dingwete;
• Tzaneen Pick n Pay defaulted against Dinkgwete.
Sunday’s Top Eight play-offs results:
• Manamela Naughty Boys 3-1 Bayern Young Stars;
• Leswika Classic 2-2 Lebaleng Shining Stars;
• Real Madrid 1-0 Long Valley;
• Golden Aces 2-2 Mapantsula.
The KLG play-offs will continue this weekend at the Khujwana and Ditsieng/Long Valley grounds. Those in the top eight deciders would not like to miss out on the KLG Top Eight Soccer Challenge next year, while those battling it out in the top 16 deciders want to make it to the prestigious KLG Premier League.

• Manamela Naughty Boys vs Lebaleng Shining Stars – Ditsieng/Mathanzima ground, 16:00.
• Royal Celtic vs Dinkgwete – Moruleng ground, 14:00.
• Bayern Young Stars vs Golden Aces – Khujwana ground, 14:00.
• Real Madrid vs Mapantsula – Khujwana ground, 16:00.
Sunday, KLG Top 16:
• Tzaneen Pick n Pay vs Bubs – Khujwana ground, 14:00.
• Hotbeans vs Khopho All Stars – Khujwana ground, 16:00.
• Royal Celtic vs Dinkgwete – Ditsieng/Mathanzima, 14:00.
• Mogoboya Junior Ciefs vs Mphoto – Ditsieng/Mathanzima, 16:00.
The KLG Pamo Cup will be launched within the next two weeks and is open to all interested teams in Mopani.
