Municipality puts their house in order after festive season

With the festive season being a distant memory, the Polokwane Municipality has started the enormously daunting task of repairing the roads, as well as putting pavements and public parks to rights after grass and weeds were left to grow indiscriminately.

POLOKWANE – With the festive season being a distant memory, the Polokwane Municipality has started the enormously daunting task of repairing the roads, as well as putting pavements and public parks to rights after grass and weeds were left to grow indiscriminately.

Municipal spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said these tasks were well underway and the municipality was making progress.

Areas where potholes occurred, which were subjected to high volumes of traffic were prioritised and repair teams were deployed to these areas first, she said.

In areas where traffic was congested and the road was difficult to access, repairs were done over weekends.

Residents who made use of these areas were asked to be patient in letting the municipality complete the repairs as needed.

Potholes or other damage to road surfaces can be reported to the municipal roads and stormwater section at (015) 290 2095/2373/3, or to the office on the corner of Woodbush and Vermikuliet streets, where complaints can be registered.
