Help police find robbers who shot and killed security guard at tavern

THE Maake police needs information regarding the shooting and consequent death of a security guard at Mzanzi Tavern in Lenyenye last Monday.

Samson Maenetja (40) was shot dead by two unknown men who tried to rob the tavern.

Tzaneen police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, said two armed men burst into the Mzanzi Tavern in the early hours and demanded money.

“They shot dead a security guard, before driving away without taking any money,” said Ngoepe. He said the suspects fled the scene in a grey BMW and Ford Figo without registration numbers.

“We are appealing to the public to come forward with information.

“Please call the nearest police station or the Crime Stop number 086 00 10111,” he said.
