POLOKWANE – His perseverance and punctuality are some of the qualities Randani Matsebu’s colleagues at ER24 will always remember him for.
Matsebu died in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday evening.
Matsebu was transferring a patient from Mediclinic Limpopo when a bakkie collided with the ambulance on the Marken road on the way to Lephalale.
Kaleb Meyer, ER24 branch manager, said the ambulance overturned a few times and Matsebu was thrown out of the vehicle.
He was certified dead on the scene by paramedics.
“A case of culpable homicide is being investigated by the police,” Meyer added.
Matsebu started working for ER24 in 2012 as a volunteer and he became a permanent personnel member in August last year.
“Randani was always eager to learn and he submitted himself under all ER24 personnel in order to learn more about the company and how it operates. He was very loyal to the company and always had great respect for the people he worked with. His death is a big loss to ER24 and we will miss him very much,” Meyer said. Matsebu’s memorial service will be held at Mediclinic Limpopo at 10:00 today (Thursday) and his funeral will be in Venda on Saturday.
He leaves behind his mother, father, two brothers and a four-year-old daughter.
