FARMERS had the opportunity to share their expertise and knowledge with other farmers at the Agricultural Indaba that was hosted by the Molemole Municipality at the Mogwadi Boeresaal last week.

Local farmers took advantage of the opportunity to discuss agricultural issues with various stakeholders in the farming sector.

Municipal spokesperson, Morongwa Pholoba, said the indaba was a way for stakeholders to come up with ways of developing agriculture and to create a platform for agriculture to play a role in municipal matters.

Representatives from the departments of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, rural development and land reform as well as representatives from the Limpopo Economic Development Agency, the Transvaal Agricultural Union, the African Farmers’ Union, ZZ2 Farms and NTK attended the indaba.

Molemole mayor, Paulina Makgato, addressed the indaba and said agriculture played a major part in the municipality’s economic strategy.

“We want to encourage potential investors and business partners to assist the municipality to achieve its development and transformation objectives in the agricultural sector,” she said.
