Mamabolo was wounded in a shooting incident at Waterland on September 13 and had to undergo an operation following his admission to Mediclinic Limpopo.

Three other men were also wounded during the incident.

Jacob Lebogo, a former provincial ANC youth league secretary was arrested and appeared in court on September 16 after he handed himself over to the police. He appeared on Thursday, September 18 for a bail application and was released on bail of R5 000.

Lebogo must appear in court again on November 14. He handed over his firearm to the police.

Mamabolo did not want to divulge information regarding the incident during a telephone interview yesterday (Monday) as the case was sub judice.

He thanked his well-wishers and people who prayed and said his wound was already much better.

“All the comrades, family members and friends, thank you very much for your support and prayers,” he said, adding that he was fine and on his way to a full recovery.
