Medupi workers shot at

Following a shooting incident at Marapong, Lephalale in which a man was shot and another slightly injured, cases of attempted murder have been opened by Limpopo police.

LIMPOPO – Following a shooting incident at Marapong, Lephalale in which a man was shot and another slightly injured, cases of attempted murder have been opened by Limpopo police.

According to police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto, the shooting happened at 05:00 on Thursday morning when a group of workers waiting for transport to Medupi were fired at from behind.

One worker was shot in the stomach and another was slightly injured on the ear.

The suspect fled on foot and is currently still unknown says Otto.

The motive for the incident is being investigated.
