LIMPOPO – A young boy survived a brush with death after a hit and run accident at Tubatse Crossing Mall in Burgersfort recently.
David Frimino (12) told CV that he sustained slight injuries to his stomach when he was hit by a luxury vehicle. His mother rushed to a hospital in Middelburg.
“It happened so fast, but I am grateful that nothing serious happened to me. The worst part is that the reckless driver never stopped. He just drove off.
“I only sustained minor injuries and I am back at school.I still have pain, but the doctors assured me that I will recover.”
On the same day, Fatima Mahomed, owner of Highlands College, was also knocked over by a motorist driving on the pedestrian side of the road.
“The guy was drunk and rude. He never even apologised for almost injuring me, it’s high time locals drive responsibly.”
Mahomed warned pedestrians and motorists to be cautious while in town and to adhere to the rules of the road.
Police were not available for comment.
